Beltran Romantic Sax was founded in 2014 by father and son duo Ricardo Beltran Sr. and Ricardo Beltran Jr. What began as a fun hobby for Ricardo Jr., performing at karaoke nights in local restaurants, quickly turned into a professional pursuit when he was invited to play at a wedding. Thus, Beltran Romantic Sax was born. From 2014 to 2020, Ricardo Jr. performed extensively across Austin, Texas, steadily expanding the business. Today, Beltran Romantic Sax offers a wide range of soothing music for all types of events, ensuring an unforgettable experience for every occasion.

Meet the Team

Ricardo Beltran Jr – Saxophonist

Ricardo Erik Beltran Jr. was born and raised in Manor, Texas, a small town east of Austin. He attended public schools in Manor and began playing the saxophone in the 6th grade, though his first instrument was the electric guitar. In 7th grade, Ricardo joined Anthropos Arts, a non-profit organization that offers free music lessons to low-income students. Around the same time, his father, who played in a Latin band, gave Ricardo the opportunity to perform with them.

Ricardo attended Manor New Technology High School, where he developed a passion for STEM, particularly Engineering. Since his high school didn’t have a band department, he attended band classes at Manor High School. Throughout his high school years, Ricardo was deeply involved in music, performing with his father’s Latin band and participating in Anthropos Arts. He also played classical music for the school, competing in regional and solo ensemble competitions. Eager to explore jazz, Ricardo sought out additional opportunities and, during his junior year, attended a summer music camp at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After his senior year, he was selected to attend Grammy Camp in Los Angeles, California.

After graduating from Manor New Technology High School, Ricardo pursued a degree in Mechanical and Energy Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the University of North Texas. He graduated in May 2020 and has since worked in various fields within engineering. Despite his primary focus on engineering, Ricardo continued to perform music on the weekends throughout his college years.
